Road Rules
Winter Driving Requirements

Four-wheel drive vehicles or snow tires/chains are required on our roads November 1 through April 30. These requirements apply to guests or workers accessing mountain homes as well as homeowners.
Yielding
The narrowness of our roads sometimes makes it necessary for one vehicle to yield to another. The vehicle that is downhill is required to yield to an uphill vehicle. In situations where an uphill vehicle has a turn out and the downhill vehicle has started up a narrow stretch of road, the uphill vehicle can pull over and yield as a matter of courtesy.
Getting Stuck
In spite of our best efforts to keep the roads drivable, there may be time that a combination of moisture and temperature prevent this. If your vehicle gets stuck in the road, do not abandon it! Take the following steps:
- Turn on your hazard lights.
- Put hazard markers out to alert other drivers. Place the markers where other drivers will have an opportunity to stop before encountering your car.
- Use the sand in barrels strategically placed on the roads to get your vehicle unstuck.
- If you are unable to get your car unstuck, call a tow service. (see xxx for a list of tow services).
- If your car will be in the road obstructing traffic for more than 45 minutes, call Kent Christensen at (801) 224 5763 to report it.
Reporting Poor Road Conditions
Call Kent Christensen at (801) 224 5763 to report roads that need to be plowed or sanded. Kent is the liaison with our snow removal company. Homeowners are to report all problems to Kent (kc@kentchristensen.com).
